New Music

Whilst at work the other day, within the new release CD'S I noticed a copy of SOIL'S reLIVEing The Scars In London CD/DVD, this was filmed Live in London as part of the 10Th anniversary of the 2001 Album Scars, also PUDDLE OF MUD was in support of this tour celebrating their 10Th anniversary of their album COME CLEAN also released in 2011.

It was an absolute treat listening to the LIVE CD, being treated to those classic tracks such as HALO, Soil's break through track on the album, as well as BREAKING ME DOWN, MY OWN, WIDE OPEN and UNREAL.
Back in 2001 when I first heard the album, I instantly fell in love with not just the album but also the band, I can safely say Soil was one of the very earliest metal bands I got in to, and I remember having that album on repeat for what must of been a good couple of months.
I honestly think that Soil are by fare one of the best metal bands I have ever heard, I think their sound in so unique and individual, every song has its own feel and vibe to it, I also think that Ryan McCombs has one of the best singing voices in metal.
He's able to deliver not just the harmony's in perfect balance but also he has the aggressive style town to a t as well,  I feel he literally puts his heart and soul in to every song he writes, and truly makes the songs come to life.

I was suppose to go and see this gig in London but unfortunately was unable to make it, I truly though my opportunity to see Soil back with Ryan McCombs was gone, but luckily for me they were announced to play this years DOWNLOAD Festival, so last night I thought I'd get myself gear'd up to see them play at DOWNLOAD by watching the Live DVD.

It was absolutely brilliant viewing, my head was nodding, the Metal Horns were up, and my legs were tapping along to each song on the coffee table, I can begin to say how much I am looking for to seeing them live!

ENIGMA.
