Soil first released two independent EP'S, the first being SOIL in 1997 and then EL CHUPACABRA in 1998, in which most of the songs from EL CHUPACABRA would end up on SOIL'S full length debut album THROTTLE JUNKIES.
SOIL was the FIRST Rock Band to be signed to J RECORDS by Music Legend CLIVE DAVIS, who was responsible for such acts as PINK FLOYD and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. Soil released THROTTLE JUNKIES in May 1999, but this failed to project the band into the mainstream.
SOIL'S second album was SCARS released in September 2001, and thanks to the singles HALO,
MY OWN and NEED TO FEEL, the band reached its mainstream success, with HALO going on to be the most requested song on PAT LYNCH'S rock station WJRR.

SOIL'S third album was REDEFINE released in March 2004, the only singles released from this album were PRIDE and REDEFINE. Unfortunately this would be the last of SOIL'S albums to feature Vocalist Ryan McCombs before he departed from the band in October of that year to spend more time with his family.
Soil would go on to release two more albums, first TRUE SELF with new Vocalist AJ CAVALIER in March 2006 and PICTURE PERFECT in October 2009, but neither of these albums failed to have any real impact.
During this time Ryan's wife persuaded him to go back to singing, knowing how much he missed it, but by that time SOIL already had a new Vocalist, so instead Ryan joined DROWNING POOL in July 2005 and went on to release two albums with them, FULL CIRCLE in 2007 and DROWNING POOL in 2010 to good chart success.
But in November 2009 Ryan left DROWNING POOL to go back to SOIL on their European Tour to promote the 10Th anniversary of their album SCARS, and in 2011 the album went on to gain SILVER status becoming the bands most successful album.
This will be Soil's First DOWNLOAD Festival appearance, you can catch them on Friday on The Pepsi Max Stage.
ENIGMA.
