MJ 3 years on and still on top

Whilst browsing some music news sites this morning, I come across an article of the top grossing artist's for North American and World Tours and who happens to be at number one and three of those list's ? none other than the King Of Pop himself MICHAEL JACKSON.

SO three years after MJ's death, he's still at the top, over some of today's so called biggest artist in sales of tours thanks to the Cirque Du Soliel Immortal Tour, which has grossed $78.5 million in North America, he's  above Roger Waters by $16.6  million.


And when it comes to World's tour's he's at number three on $78.5 million, with Bruce Springsteen on $79.9 million, that's only 1.4 million dollars less, and Roger Waters at number one on $158.1 million. Yes Roger Waters is way out in front on the world circuit, but when you think of the difference between second and third there's hardly anything in it. What makes me smile about this is, when I look at the list and see artist's such as COLDPLAY, LADY GAGA, MADONNA, ELTON JOHN and PRINCE on the list under MJ.

When you think that these are meant to be some of our leading bands and artist's and there being overtaken still by MJ it does bring a nice warm glow to me inside, especially as MJ has been gone now three years, and   the CIRQUE DU SOLIEL is purely just his greatest hits, not even any new songs included in the set list.

To be honest the real reason I wanted to write this was that fact that when MJ was still alive, it seemed that every one was out to get him! the media, DS, his own family (I wont say who but if you review certain interviews you'll know who I mean.) even some fans started turning their back on his. He had his trials and tribulations, allegations against him, personal problems and fears.

But I believe  his music and performances always spoke for them self's, he was the greatest performer of our generation. Now yes he was. and I think we can all agree, he was a very strange man in some degree's, but we all know about his childhood etc.

My point to all of this ....at the end of the day when MJ was alive we all couldn't wait to see the downfall of the man that has given us so much, the sound track to a generation. every one was jumping on the band wagon to try and bring him down. BUT and this is what gets me, as soon as he is no longer with us ...EVERY man, woman, child and their dog wants apart of MJ, suddenly every one loves MJ, suddenly he can or could do no wrong! Every one wants a piece of him!

I'm sorry but where were these people through the bad times ??? oh yeah that's right...no where.
As a true fan, (and believe me I don't agree with everything MJ done) I'm so happy to still see he's on top! because I TRULY believe there will never be any one like MICHAEL JACKSON again in our life time.

The man was a LEGEND, and a legend that will truly be missed with in popular culture... just think if people had treated him differently and let the music and talent speak for him, may be just may be he may have still been with us to ....
